Golden BC is Kicking Horse country! The famous Kicking Horse River winds it's way through Golden en route to join the Columbia River, and, eventually, the Pacific Ocean.  Staying in Golden gives you easy access to our Kicking Horse River Basecamp which is an easy 20 minute drive from Golden itself.

The town of Golden and surrounding area seem bigger than life. The natural surroundings are full of everything from the waterfalls, to mountains, to astonishing vistas should lead adventurers to the time of their lives! If you revel in downhill mountain biking head over to the local ski hill called Kicking Horse Mountain for lift-assisted downhill riding with everything from novice to expert riding. Or, pack a lunch and head to the nearby Yoho Provincial Park for a quick hike to Wapta or Takkakaw Falls (try saying that three times quickly!) If neither of these options fit your holiday plans; try horseback riding, para-gliding, visit Boo the Grizzly bear at the Kicking Horse Mountain, or the wolves at Northern Lights Wolf Center! This mountain community hosts a variety of accommodation styles, be it lodge based (Mount 7 Lodges, Beaverfoot Lodge) camping (eco-ranch, municipal), or in high style at Emerald Lake Lodge!
